Recent activity at Popo indicate 57 events, alth off steam, some explosive phases and remains infrared signal catched by satellite sounders installed at NOAA 16 and NOAA 18 satellites. This activity level suggest an close watch of volcano activity, this is because crater is full of debris and could cause clouds and piroclastic flux toward SE to NE volcano slopes. The infrared signal probably is caused by an small persistent lava flux at crater bottom with a increase of temperature and pressure. next hours we expect new steam columns and some explosive phases. Unfortunately there is not a early watch system for direct application to towns around volcano.
